What we are
Black Cherry Autoworks is a specialist classic and specialty vehicle shop based in Maple Ridge, British Columbia. The work covers restoration, repair, bodywork, paint, collision repair and fabrication, all directed at vehicles that need judgement rather than a standard procedure.
Most of what comes through the door has history attached to it. Some of it is original and unrestored. Some of it has been repaired several times over decades. Some of it has been built into something the factory never made. Each of those situations changes how the work has to be approached, and none of them are solved by treating the vehicle like a current model production car.
How we work
Work starts with an honest look at the vehicle. On older cars, what you can see is rarely the whole picture, so where it is needed we open areas up before committing to a plan. That means the scope of a job can change once the true condition is visible, and when it does, we talk to you about it rather than quietly continuing.
Metal work is preferred over covering problems. Panels are repaired where they can be saved and replaced where saving them is not the right call. Preparation is treated as part of the paint job rather than a step to rush before it. None of this is fast, but it is what makes the finished result hold up.
You are kept informed as the work progresses. Owners of these vehicles are usually deeply involved in them, and decisions about their car should be made with them.
Who we work with
Owners of classic cars, muscle cars, collector vehicles, hot rods, restomods, older trucks and specialty vehicles across Maple Ridge and the surrounding Metro Vancouver area. Some are working through a long term restoration. Some are keeping a driver solid. Some have had a finished vehicle damaged and want it repaired by people who understand what that means.
